Can Jumping DVC to Parallel on Sub Cause Delay?

In it the guy states that when wiring DVC subs to parallel, using jumper wires will cause a "delay" due to each voice coil not recieving power at the same time which can have negative effects on the sub. His solution is to run 4 separate wires from each terminal on the speaker straight to the terminal plate on the box, thus ensuring that both voice coils receive power at the same exact time.
I've never heard this before, granted, I am no expert. Is this mumbo jumbo or is there actually some plausibility to this?
