This is my 4th install and for some reason its giving me an issue i cant figure out.
I am using a Flashlogic FLCAN (programmed using FLPROG programming cable) connected via D2D wire to an Avital 5305L two way remote start/security module.
I know the programming is correct because after programming it correctly locks and unlocks but when I hit the start button it does nothing. No relay noises inside the Avital unit which im pretty sure that the other installs always made relay clicking sounds inside the avital units even if a wire was not connected correctly. I have tried connecting the neutral/brake wire to ground with no luck. I also tried grounding the remote start activation wire to override the remote and force remote start but nothing.
Wires are connected as follows.
FLCAN (made by iDataLink) bypass unit connected to:
ORANGE - DATA (J1850) to white/violet on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, car side)
WHITE/BLACK to white/violet on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, plug side)
PINK - IGNITION (+) INPUT and WHITE/RED to pink/white on SKIM immobilizer module
ORANGE/BLACK - GROUND (-) to ground bolt because van has oem alarm
STARTER (+) INPUT - BLACK/WHITE to yellow starter wire on ignition in parallel with remote starter
2 way idatalink D2D wire connects bypass to remote starter
on Avital wires connected as:
12 pin primary harness
RED (+) CONSTANT POWER INPUT connected to blue/red stripe 12v constant at ignition
BLACK (-) CHASSIS GROUND INPUT connected to ground bolt
heavy gauge relay satellite
PURPLE STARTER OUTPUT TO STARTER (STARTER SIDE) to yellow starter cable at igition
RED (+) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT to blue/red stripe 12v constant at ignition
PINK OUTPUT TO PRIMARY IGNITION CIRCUIT to pink/white ignition 1 at ignition
(+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT to blue/red stripe 12v constant at ignition
RED/WHITE (+) (30A) HIGH CURRENT 12V INPUT to blue/red stripe 12v constant at ignition
tried with and without BLACK/WHITE (-) NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH INPUT connected to ground bolt but no difference

What tach mode are you using and if you are using Data tach have you programmed it, and if your using Analog tach is the wire connected to the vehicle and programmed ?
Only Virtual tach doesn't need to be programmed first for R/S to activate.

Tach comes from bypass via 2 way data and from my experiences with other cars it should at least click a relay inside the remote start module and give error code blinks for failed start

Try following the Data Tach programming instructions first. Not sure if your model has the new Garage mode or not but if programming the Data Tach doesn't help make sure its not in Garage Mode if it has that function.
"Black/White: (-) PARKING BRAKE/EMERGENCY BRAKE INPUT
This input wire connects to the parking brake/emergency brake wire in the vehicle. This wire must have a
ground for the remote start to operate."

Haven't installed any of the units with this new mode yet but here is the info on it!
Disabling the Remote Start System/Garage Mode
Garage Mode is a safety feature that disables the remote start system if
the vehicle is parked in a garage, being serviced, or used by someone
unfamiliar with remote start systems.
When Garage Mode is ON, any attempt to start the engine, activate
Timer Mode, or enter Pit Stop mode is denied and remote start diagnostics
flashes the parking lights nine times.
Turn Garage Mode ON or OFF:
1. Turn the ignition on then off.
2. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Valet button once.
3. The parking lights flash:
• Nine times quickly when turning on.
Remote Start Diagnostics
For user safety, the system must be properly configured or remote start
will not activate.
A Remote Start Fault may be caused by any of several
configuration issues. If the remote start fails to activate, refer to the table
below for the command type and parking light flashes that will identify
the configuration issue and solution.
Light Flash Problem Solution
5 flashes Brake is on Release the foot brake
6 flashes Hood is open Close the hood
8 flashes Neutral safety is disconnected Set the parking brake or move
the shifter to the park position
9 flashes Garage Mode is ON Turn Garage Mode OFF• Nine times slowly when turning off.

if it is like a typical viper, the default is set to "manual transmission" mode.. so you need to put it into to "auto".. need to learn tach, and it should work..

Only select models have "MTS" mode for manual trans vehicles and this is not one of them.

Here are my suggestions on debugging the install:
1.)   You need Avital Black/White: (-) PARKING BRAKE/EMERGENCY BRAKE INPUT connected to Ground. If you installed the toggle switch in series with the black/white wire make sure the switch is in the on position.
2.) Your FLCAN wiring reads:
ORANGE - DATA (J1850) to white/violet on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, car side)
WHITE/BLACK to white/violet on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, plug side)
PINK - IGNITION (+) INPUT and WHITE/RED to pink/white on SKIM immobilizer module
--White/violet Data wire on SKIM immobilizer should NOT be cut. Wire FLCAN Orange to WHITE/VIOLET of SKIM immobilizer module
--SKIM Ignition should be cut, and wired as:
WHITE/BLACK to PINK/WHITE on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, plug side)
Pink Ignition and White/Red to PINK/WHITE on SKIM immobilizer module (cut, car side)
3.) Make sure your fuses are good and pushed fully in on heavy gauge wires. Double check the satellite relay connectors are firmly seated, even the ribbon cable connection from satellite module to main module at both ends.
4.) Unlock car and get into programming menu 3. Change Tach monitor to "OFF" to debug your connections. You can turn this on after you have the Remote start Debugged.
5.) Try the remote start. If it doesn't work, check diagnostics:
Shutdown diagnostics
To perform shutdown diagnostics:
1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the Valet/Program switch.
2. Turn the ignition ON and then back OFF while holding the Valet/Program
switch.
3. Release the Valet/Program switch.
4. Press and release the Valet/Program switch. The LED flashes on the control
center to report the last shutdown for one minute or until the ignition
is turned on, as shown in the following table:
LED Flashes Shutdown Mode
1 Timed out
2 Over-rev shutdown
3 Low or no RPM
4 Transmitter shutdown (or optional push button)
5 (+) Brake shutdown
6 (-) Shutdown (H3/4 GRAY) or (+) Shutdwon (H3/3
BROWN)
7 (-) Neutral safety shutdown (H3/1 BLACK/WHITE)
8 Wait-to-start timed out
Hope this helps.
