I'm Replacing the POS Nav / Stereo that came in my Class C Motorhome with a Pioneer Avic W8500 NEX stereo. It is a 2019 Ford E-450 Cutaway Chassis, and I am looking for the speed sense wire. I called the place where I purchased the stereo and they were helpful...they are saying it's a Purple wire with an Orange stripe behind the drivers kickpanel. I found a wire that I thought might be it, but it had 12 volts whenever key was on so I am pretty sure that wire is incorrect. I found info for a 2014 and it says Purple wire with Orange stripe under drivers kickpanel….Rear connection. I will go back and look more closely at the wires way in the back underneath Dash. Does anybody have any additional info about the location for this wire. Thank you in advance.

Directechs has the following.
Speed Sense      violet/orange (except stripped chassis models)      ac      driver kick, harness to rear
I am pretty sure your RV is built on a stripped chassis.
Your unit will work fine without speed sense. Well as long as you are ok with it not working correctly while in a tunnel or a parking garage.

Thanks for the Info. I really had no idea what improvement the speed sense wire added. I'm going to look again for the Speed sense wire in the Rear of the panel area....if I still can't locate it I will run a wire from the stereo speed sense wire to under the Drivers kickpanel in case I want to try and connect it later...I won't have to remove the whole stereo. Thanks again.
