Code Alarm AS9234E Issues After Vehicle Battery Replacement

2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Baur Edition. Alarm installed is an AS9234E without the remote start part added. Was working great until i had to replace the vehicle battery and cable ends. The alarm actually still works but it will go off for what seems as no reason. The odd part about it is i will disarm it and get in and drive to work for example. When i get to work i turn the truck off. As soon as i grab the handle to get out and it unlocks all the doors i get 2 horn beeps and then another horn beep. Was hoping someone may have heard of this or knows how to fix this. I did try to do the relearn in the manual that i downloaded which is use the fob to Lock / Unlock / Lock / Unlock / Lock / Unlock / Lock. After i did the third unlock the alarm would start going off. Does anyone maybe have a different way to do the dome light delay setting?    Thanks.

Is the alarm set for active arming, in other words, armed and disarmed only from the key fob? The state of the arm/disarm signals to support this are learned on power up. The AS9234E also allows use of the parking light status along with the door lock status to arm or disarm. My guess is that there may have been some confusion during the battery service--maybe the lights were left on and came on during power up of the new battery? It may be best to start off resetting the auto sensing arm/disarm signals by doing the following: 1.) Put the truck in "Valet" mode--Turn the ignition to the "ON position and press and hold the LED/Program button until the led turns on. This is to avoid the alarm turning on as soon as power is applied. 2.) Turn all vehicle lights off. Unlock all doors. 3.) Remove the fuses from the power leads on the AS9234E Harness.   Wait 60 seconds and then reinstall the fuses. 4.) Press lock to learn the state of the Arm signal. Next Press unlock, and unlock again to unlock all doors if you have a 2 step unlock--this will learn the state of the Disarm signal. 5.) Re-enable the alarm by turning the ignition to "on" and then pressing the LED/program button once--it should turn off indicating the alarm is out of valet mode. Retest and see if the alarm acts as expected. I would try this first, and then try to program the dome light delay if needed.     Hope this helps.Lectric Guy

Thanks for the information. I actually unplugged the all alarm harnesses. Then plugged in the 22 pin connector and ground 4 pin connector. Then plugged in the power 6 pin connector and when it went off his disarm. Then hit arm and then disarm again. All is well.   This would have been much simpler. I will save this in my alarm folder.
