I have searched for about an hour and couldn't find exactly this issue, so if its been discussed, my apologies.
I am having a total blonde moment.
My wife just got a 2005 Forester. Had a spot for a 6x9 rear sub (which was shot/removed). I am replacing it with an 8" Kicker/250w mono amp. The stereo we have for it is a Pioneer AVH-190DVD. It has 4ch RCA outputs. Its own internal amp is fine for 4 speakers (same radio we have in our other car and its very adequate). It has 'sub out' control.....but I have never done it this way. I always had 6ch RCAs when I did an amp.......and am now drawing a blank.
Here's the stupid question of the day: Can I run the 4 door speakers off the head unit's internal amp, then use the rear RCA's for the mono amp/sub?
This is the manual for the stereo I have.

Thanks very much for any help.

I saw that but for some reason I couldn't remember if that would kill the rear channels on the HU's internal amp. Its been about 10 yrs since I last did a 'real' system and it just didn't look right to me.....most everything since has been a straight radio swap with no amps, subs, etc.
THANKS!
