In the process of wrapping up a engine and harness conversion on my car.
The car has a factory alarm that used a vacuum pump style central locking system. Pulled the wiring back to the fuse box and replaced that system with the Type D positive trigger reverse polarity relay setup.
This setup works for the locking pulse. However upon testing the positive trigger from the CCM, it's only pulsing 3.8 volt to unlock. I'm guessing this isn't enough to trigger the relay, as the lock signal is pulsing 10v to the relay.
You can hear and feel it faintly trying to click, but at the minute stuck for ideas.
Can anyone share any ideas?
Thanks

You could try a lower voltage relay (5 volts) or use a transistor/resistors to trigger your setup.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

I'll be honest, didn't think of seeing if there was a lower voltage relay option. However after checking I can't find one that isn't a "micro" relay for PCB's. I've set this up using automotive 12v relays.
The relays I'm using is a pair Siemens Tyco ones. However I think they are 40amp, not 30amp like I originally thought. Shouldn't make any difference as the 12v feed is 15amp fused.
I've bought another CCM in case the voltage trigger from that is buggered.
If you have links to a different relay that would be appreciated.
Thanks

The relay is 40/30 amp. 40 amps in the energized position and 30 amps on the normally closed contacts.
Let's Go Brandon Brown. Congratulations on your first Xfinity Series Win. LGBFJB
