I wasn't sure where to post this, so if I need to post it elsewhere, please let me know. I'll move the post there if I can and if it's authorized.
I bought a Topping DX3 Pro+ DAC that I want to use in my car audio installation. I bought this before I came across a unit made for the vehicle environment, but I'm not returning what I bought. I'll continue with the installation in my 2010 Camry.
My current BT streaming unit only streams SBC, which is lower than CD quality and has a high noise floor. I'll repurpose this for hands-free calling only.
I decided to move to the Topping for music because it streams LDAC plus I can plug my phone into it via USB. The power input is 15 volts DC at 1 amp.
I found an MT3608 DC-DC Micro-USB Step Up Boost Module 2-24V IN 5-28V Output Power Converter. Output Current: 1A sustained / 2A peak. https://www./itm/115856159075
My thought is to use an older USB car charger. I could remove it from its enclosure and solder it to the ignition turn-on via a fused relay. The charger will power the older BT for hands-free phone use and the other USB can power the DC-DC converter for the Topping. The Topping draws 1 amp. Do I need to add a resistor or anything else on the output of the converter to maintain 1 amp?
My knowledge of circuitry and design is novice, at best. So, please bear with me.
Basically, given what I just said, what is the best, safest, and most efficient way to implement this without installing a power inverter into the vehicle? Diagrams, links, suggestions, education material, and anything else you may add will be helpful. I'm open to anything to do this correctly.
Thank you in advance.
