2015 Chevrolet Express Van, DS4+ Starter Kill -- posted image.
Got the ds4+ all hooked up except the relay starter kill. Currently everything is connected as shown in the image. The relay never clicks over with alarm enabled or disabled. Ive tryed both ways for 87a - 30. 30 is supposed to be vehicle side, 87a starter connector side. 85 (-) output from ds4+ wire , 86 constant 12v power.
It took me a while to get around to the project would getting it reprogrammed possibly solve my problem?
Its acting like it gets no ground signal from the ds4+ whatsoever. Never switching / clicking. Tested the relay itself with direct connection and it does in fact function..
Productive weekend regardless, got the backup alarm hooked to a switch. Its going to be so nice not waking everyone up pulling out of the driveway.

Your diagram shows the relay coil connected to 12 volts ignition (this is how it should be) rather than 12 volts constant, meaning you should not hear a relay click when arming. The relay should only click/energize once the key is turned to ignition/start. That way you avoid a larger constant draw whenever armed (bigger drain on the battery).
If you want to see if you have a good ground when armed output, temporarily connect the relay coil positive to 12 volts constant. While holding the relay, arm the system and see if you feel it click. If it is already connected this way, you don't have good ground when armed output.
I can't help you with any DS4+ issues, never used them. I switched to Idatalink/Compustar a few years back.

Thank you for the reply. I never thought of the constant 12v drain from the relay draw. I plan on investigating your suggestion of a bad ground next and hope that solves the issue. I tied it into an existing chassis ground screw and might not have soldered a good bond. Would there be any obvious issues with a faulty ground besides the obvious (-) starter kill output? The alarm seems to function properly even activating / triggering on the analog motion sensor wires that were programed in.
I know the relay works and when the purple starter wire breaks continuity it wont crank. So the process of elimination is where Im at. Hoping the vehicle side and starter side wires are connected correctly and the relay will actually break the 30 to 87a connection when its active.

When I mentioned ground-when-armed (commonly abbreviated as GWA), I was simply referring to the output used to trigger your starter kill relay, not a chassis ground connection. Yes, a faulty ground would likely cause other issues as well.

Thanks again, you were right. Unfortunately I used the incorrect accessory wire. White/blue instead of blue/white.. well that was fun. Works like a charm now, only activating when armed and the key is used to start. Remote start bypasses the whole relay which I guess is expected.
