Im trying to display my factory backup camera feed to a new headunit. Im not sure if its even compatible. I cant find any information on what format the composite video is sending out or what the radio is expecting to receive.
Chevy Express 3500 2015
Jensen CAR714MW
Ive spliced both the Camera Rear Vision Signal (-) and (+) wires to an rca jack and plugged it in. No signal.
Has someone else tried this before in one way or another?
The rearveiw mirror monitor display is significantly smaller, could the resolution be the issue?

I see blue or light blue is listed as the negative camera signal while white is listed as the positive camera signal. I also see that the outer shield gray at the camera doesn't connect to the mirror display or the radio.
Have a look here.

It comes down at the passenger kick panel off the X204 Body Harness to Headliner Harness, thats where I spliced in. White is positive center of rca dark blue is negative for the outer rca. Same as it states here, I checked the wire schematics and diagrams and pinouts all before the tear down. My thinking is theres some issue with the data format between the jensen stereo and the camera. I dont have any other monitor to test the video feed from my wire but it has continuity. Im not sure of what process of elimination I should go through to verify my hypothesis. Hoping I dont have to spend more money on a different camera and tear apart the dashboard again. 😢
Thanks Lee for the help
Also it seems the camera itself doesn't send video while the dashboard is unplugged, the rearveiw mirror display only worked after reassembling the dash. So some power feed comes from there..

What happens if you just try white as the RCA center feed and don't connect the blue but connect the RCA outer conductor to ground?

Good news is I got it to work and only drained the battery completely once. Bad news is Im once again an idiot. Got the multimeter out instead of some cheap janky continuity tester that came with a toner and found very low resistance values but no true connected circuit (no beep). So after proving no connection to the lines I wanted, I probed around and found the white + blue lines I wanted, it was obvious the wires where all jacketed in that tin tape to prevent interference.
Also just to add insult to injury, discovered that backup alarm switch i was proud of, also disables the rear backup lamps. I hate myself.

Relax man, you made a mistake. That's called being human.
The diagram shows a backup lamp relay powering two 10 amp fuses in the passenger compartment fuse block (under the driver's seat). The owners manual identifies these fuses as F26 (auxiliary/trailer backup) and F27 (taillamps backup). This auxiliary fuse specifically shows as a feed to a backup alarm so if you didn't have one, you should be able to use this.

You go above and beyond, I cant thank you enough. You're right, I am just being dramatic.
I have 15 lemon manual tabs open currently across two devices. My 3500 6.0 vin G diagram looks identical.

The weird part is F26PA does nothing when its pulled. The backup alarm still whales. F27PA on the other hand disables the backup alarm and the lights. I thought maybe I bypassed the fuses altogether and caught the internal KR40 relay line so I tested and nope that 10A fuse is just for show as far as I can tell.. my next test is going to the dog house underhood fusebox X3-D3 to X2-F1.

I tryed to grab that L-GN line initially from the underhood fuse box but seeing the direct power from the mega fuses behind the passenger compartment fuse block, opted to probe lines there. It works, just nobody knows Im in reverse and its dark as hell.
Also if I was switching off the F27PA circuit 24 as, my backup camera shouldnt have power yet it works fine with my beeper disabled.

Your backup alarm is wired in parallel, right, not in series with the backup lights?
Have you tried using a separate relay to power your backup alarm?
Are you using LED bulbs?

I haven't had time to check yet and honestly wouldn't know how to verify if its in series, directly connected or parallel to the lights. Could I check at the lamp itself for continuity to the speaker plug back there?
No, I haven't attempted to use a separate relay and also am unsure of what exactly that might entail. Woefully unprepared for what that task might involve surely. Still haven't checked the under hood wires I mentioned previously and probably won't have time till this coming weekend. I don't think those backup lights are LEDs.
bought the Jensen "Recommended" backup camera and plan to get that all hooked up as well as eventually a fuel pump relay kill from a sinotrack gps system I got. eventually .. owned it for a almost a year and just recently got the starter kill relay wired up to the security system.

Yes, you could do that.
Relays might seem complicated if you haven't messed with them before. Read about them here: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/spdt-and-spst-automotive-relays.asp
Then click on "Relay Diagrams" at the top of this site.
This will take a small amount of current from the circuit you are using to trigger your relay to handle a much larger current through the contacts in the relay:
