Hi All,

Looking for some install tips or tricks or possibly any shred info on problems/issues with the Legacy kit.

To explain I have just bought a legacy ldvd35 and 2 screens from a U.S supplier, I'm in the U.K and was assured the system was NTSC/PAL compatible. The kit was easy to install but I get poor pictures.

I have tapped in to the cigarrete lightes power supply to feed the dvd and screens. The dvd has only one video out and this has been split by means of simple rca splitter. I have tested the video out with opnly one screens connected, no change to the poor pictures. I contacted the seller who immediately suggested a video amplifier? As they were so quick to recommend another one of they're products I wonder if this is a well known issue with the legacy kit? Very hard to get tech help as i'm in th U.K. To help explain my problems. When the dvd and screens are powered up the screen logo is very clear. The second I play any media the picture is poor? I don't undertsand this bit?

I'm wondering if it is my install or if i do indeed need a video amplifier?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance,

DD

When the dvd and screens are powered up the screen logo is very clear. <---- This should denote that the video strength is ok. Can you describe what you mean by unclear? That might shed light on your issue. I'm also not any kind of expert in this field, I am just using my technical background to make a logical determination.

CE,

Thanks for taking the time out to respond!

To assist, the picture is perfect at power up...just the screensaver picture alone.

To describe the poor pictures: General poor qulaity,,,,not very sharp. The main problem; is the colours are inverted or solarized?

Best way to describe it is, along the lines of picture invert on some phto editing software.

Hope this is enough to help.

yo u got a problem man. I bought the LM71's and i sent them back right away. THEY ARE NOT TFT technology, but some other junk made by legacy. If you were trying to save some cash u did but u got crap quality screens. I suggest sending them back and trying etronics.com and looking at the starvision 6" screens for $125 us but with TFT quality and good resolution.

BOYCOTT Legacy !

Jaymes, Ur tohughts are correct! I ended up opening them up and asking a friend to have a look. As i'm not an electronics guy, i did not know what to look for. My friends comments were along the lines " of cheap crap....citien stn stuff " I have returned them and upgraded to some true TFT LCD's screens.......cheapest option ended up costly!!

Thanks all the same.

Yea, you guys should not buy any screens from legacy or pyle. I am an actual dealer and that stuff is crap. I dont like to sell it, but you sometimes get some wanna be cool kids with tight budgets that go for them and say they dont care about quality, just about having dvd in their cars. Now how many dealers do you know that will tell you the truth.  Dont buy those brands!!!!!

yea, those screens are really really bad.  They all seem to look the same and they all have really really bad picture quality.

Dont forget to include pyramid brand.
