Can someone tell me the difference between spl and sq?

SPL = Sound pressure level, which translates into being loud.

SQ = Sound quality

What woudl I want if I listen to a lot of hip hop and like a lot of bass but I want it to should loud but clear. Just trying to get an idea because I am trying to decide on what 12" subs to get.

You will want a good mix of SQ/SPL. What is your budget for subs? Also do you have an amp already? If so what make and model?

trying to stay in the 200-300 range I already have 2 15" kicker xpls(not as defined bass as I like so I want to replace them). The amp I have is a hifonics GenXI Zeus

I was thinking about getting 2 12" kicker compVR's or mtx 6000 or 8000 any input on with is better
