Notes:

Note:  This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. Use DEI part 555t or 555L.  *1 The ignition harness is located far right of the steering column, behind the ignition switch.  *2 Lock and unlock use the same wire.  Lock requires a negative trigger with a 470 ohm resistor in-line.  Unlock is negative trigger. Must use relays.    *3 The BCM is located above the brake pedal.  It is a plastic box with three plugs that face the firewall.  *4 Installation of factory keyless upgrade alarm is not recommended on this vehicle because the door lock motor wires rest at approximately 7 volts.  *5 The drivers door trigger wire is blue. Blue/white will catch the passenger door.  Use both wires and diode isolate each.  *6 Horn can also be found at the black plug with a blue insert above the gas pedal.  *7 This wire must be powered as an accessory wire. If powered as an 2nd ignition the car will not crank.  *8 Must isolate this wire from the BCM when doing remote start to avoid "service engine soon" light. See directfax document #1600 for wiring information.

I am trying to add an aftermarket radio to a 2001 Monte Carlo w/ premium sound. I have power to the radio but I'm not able to get any sound. I have used a T harness and I don't know where to connect a blue (antenna turn on) and Blue/white( amplifier remote turn on) I have a Clarion VRX925 and we think that the factory amp that is running the speaker wires is not being powered by anything.  I have also tested a speaker with the direct speaker wires coming from the brain and didn't get any sound. I have figured everything but I can't receive any sound. Might the outputs from my brain be bad? I plan to wire up amps but I just wanted to wire my head unit for now if you can help me to find the wire that turns on the factory amp because it was not included on my T-harness I am guessing.

Thank you very much!

Hello

I recently purchased a keyless entry receiver with 2 transmitters.  The unit is made by United Technologies Automotive (item/part 15732806) and pretty much looks like GM stock factory keyless entry.  I have a 2000 monte carlo ss.  I already have the factory installed 8 wire harness that branches off the main group of wires underneath the steering column.  However, the unit i purchased is a 4-pin, not an 8 pin unit.  I have found that GM makes a 4 wire harness that is used in most of their fleet.  I was planning on trying to purchase that 4 wire harness online or at a local chevy dealer.  My problem is that I am not sure which wires I should connect to.  If there are 4 wires on the harness, should I connect them to the ORANGE / black, and RED / black for the trunk release, or should i connect the new harness's wiring to the The blue, orange, black and tan wires coming out of the 8 wire factory installed harness?  Any help that anyone could give would be very much appreciated.  Thanks... Happy holidays...

Go to your local GM dealer to give you a tech sheet on this module so that you have correct wiring diagrams. NEVER guess when it comes to your ignition wires... this could be expensive.
