2000 toyota tundra??? how do i test for the tach wire using a multimeter???

you will need to set your meter to ac voltage maybe on the 10 volt scale or 20 is fine. Now you wil have to start the car let it run probe the wire that you think is the tach with the red lead and ground the black (a tach will show between 2-8 volts ac and will rise in volatge with engine speed)
YOu may also choice to use an injector wire for tach this will be the uncommmon color at one of the injectors,usually an injector has 2 wires on each now one wire will be the same color on all injectors the other wire will be a tach .

voltage sensing sucks most of time ,winter time it never starts right use the tach ..Post back with engine size and i can post wire color info and location!!

ok i found the tach wire but its not the color i got from this website...the wire color i tapped into was a brown...thanks for the help
