Where to mount shock sensor

   Hello,        The manufacturers of the systems that I install recomend a large wire harness or the plastic duct work of the heater/ac. They say that mounting it right to chasis or steal bracing will make it less sensitive. Good luck!! Wyoming 12volt Enthusiast

Thats right. If you mount it loosely, it will move more. Even if there is a truck passing by or a train passing by, the vibration can make a loosely attached sensor trigger the alarm. Mount it on something hard with screws, if not possible then with wire ties but moral of the story is it has to be as tightly mounted as possible to the vehicle that allows least vibration.

Yeah, but what part of the vehicle should it be at? Front? and if so, where at in the front?

I don't have a97 civic EX coupe so I cannot see what you see; you'll have to figure an appropriate place based on the requirements. Think. ANy part that is as close to being steady as your chasis is a good place.

usually installers mount wire tie them to the main ignition harness in the steering column. the steering column works pretty good for me and it since when the wheel moves it will trigger the sensor.
