I am considering to bbuy compustar 2WFM-AS, (profuse007 recommended it for manual transmission, i got only one reply for my question regarding recommendations for a remote/alarm combo on my manual tranny 86 4runner, can someone suggest any other brands?)

IS this easy to install? I cant afford to get it installed professionally and want to install it myself. ( this forum is a good reason why I can consider  doing it myself) How are the instructions? any reviews/comments on this alarm from your experience?  What kind of manufacturer warranty would I get by not getting it installed by an authorized dealer? will the warranty be voided if I do it myself? sorry for so many questions!! Thank you.

i dont know about the states, but up there is no warranty at all on the good brands DEI, Autostart, etc. unless it's installed by an authorized dealer/installer.... course you can always buy the junky Bulldog stuff where they dont care who installs it or whether it works or not, as long as they make the sale....

i will be open to help you and might be able to take you through the whole process.

MAKE SURE to read the section for programming the 2-way transmitter. Read it 4 or 5 times and practice 2 or 3 times without pulling the tab off the battery. Negative trigger relay override of the clutch start switch and an extra wire to the emergency brake and away you go.

WOW don't cut and paste from word!

MAKE SURE to READ the section for programming the 2-way transmitter. Read it 3 or 4 times and practice it 2 or 3 times without pulling the tab off the trans battery.

With a relay isolation of the clutch starter interupt and an extra wire to the parking brake your on the way.
