Amplifier question

i have an alpine head unit with a 4v output for amps, Can any amp hook up to this output or it has to be a 4v amp as well.

any amp.... good quality preferably.... i mean you wouldnt buy a HU like that and then hook up a Boss amp or anything.... but yes, any amp will physically work

the voltage of a pre-out does not mean it's a high dollar head unit. I know that the top 3 or 4 model Boss cd head units have 5 volt pre outs. I put a dmm on it. and Boss has a way better amp than you think. the head units do suck,but they do put out 5v
