Looks like the second starter wire on this car is also a second ingnition like the pacifica. Is anybody as the correct resistor value and/or diag. for this car.

With only the second starter activated with a 180ohms resistor the car will start but the instument cluster (fuel gage etc) won`t come on and  this sends a fault signal to the ECM and the check engine light come on .

Thanks

I think the dei tech sheet only shows 2 ing wires, there are 3.

the 3rd ing is the same color i think as the 2nd but much bigger gauge. Pink / YELLOW

when you meter it, it will NOT read like a true ing, just reads voltage for a sec or so, but it needs to be energized to work. only voltage during run, not crank, but not acc either.

I think that might help, one of our other installer had hell with a 05 durango, 14 hours, he had the same type of problems engine light

Did that work???????

I used the third ign output to the purple with blue i think it was . the wire that changes voltage as you turn the key from 4 down to 2 volts.

and have not had any problems

remember...Friends Dont let friends Install, Take it to a pro..

Wire the "magic wire" as 2nd Ign (-) and use a 500 ohm resistor.

This is close enough to the crank value, AND close enough to the run value, to let it start ( and run) without setting a code.

You want to disarm the OEM alarm, on that same wire too ?

erasing codes is easy on this one. just disconnect the Negative battery post ( pass. trunk) and try and key start the car. plug the battery back in.  code gone.

Our first one took 2 of us most of a day, with a chrysler diagram of the Ign switch.

note; if you hooked up ignition wires as per (wiremagic) . the cruise control on the vec will not work!
