I am thinking about getting and OBD scanner.  I wonder if there are any that clear most lights on vehicles?  I have seen several different ones online, but most only clear the "check engine" light.  I was looking at the Auterra A-300, but I think it only clears the "check engine" light, only.  I wonder if there are any that clear the other problem lights, or not?  Or is the dealer the only one that can do this?  Thanks for your help in advance.

Thanks for your reply.  I was thinking about getting it online because of the variety.

Thanks a lot for the site.  I'll see the scanners they have.

Hi guys, thanks for all your replies.  I would like to get a scanner that resets the check engine, abs, air bag, and other such lights.  I would like to be able to do this for when I get problems during an install.  This doesn't happen often, but I would like to be prepared.  Currently one of my installer's is having problems with a security light on an SUV, which I talked about in the following thread: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=35216&PN=2  I would like to be able to resolve these kinds of problems faster and hopefully there are some scanners that can help.

Well, for those types of issues peticularly you will need a manufacturer specific scanner. Last time I checked the honda one is around $6000, I think the GM TechII is around the same.

Thanks for your reply.  Wow those things are more expensive than I thought.  I was also looking at the BMW Modic III yesterday and that one is pretty pricey, too.  I guess I'll just get one that resets the check engine light.  Do you think that one of the aftermarket scanners would be a good tool to have around?  We rarely get lights to turn on in cars.  Also sometimes some cars get problems that the owners think it might be the alarm, but in the end it's usually something else.  Could this help in any way?
