My brother hooked his 9833 up to the factory wiring. Two weeks later, he had burnt wires in his dash, moral of the story is, LISTEN TO THE MANUAL.

for wiring threw the firewall you may be able to find a space big enough to fit the 10awg wire threw in a stock grommet but most cars now only have the grommet big enough to fit the wires going threw. altough in any case there are exceptions. if you have to drill threw the firewall pick a place close to the stock grommet and there is nothing on the other side of the firewall there. for 10awg wire you probably have a drill bit that will be able to drill that hole no problem without the $40 step bit. i usually like using a coat hanger spread open and tape the wire to it till you get it through the hole than unconnnect the wire from the hanger. make sure to use a grommet though. you can even get the grommets at your local lowes or home depot.

Thanks for all the install tips! I hope my first install attempt goes as planned. I'll update you with my success story so we have a vehicle specific post available for others to read.
If you think I can help, ask me... I'll try my best!
