i was reading the viper 791xv owners guide, and it says The on-board relay can control most power trunk releases. I do have a power trunk release, on a 01 dodge stratus, and i wanted to know how do i hook that up to the alarm so i can pop via the remote using aux chan 2.

when I shut the car off now, and pull the door handle to get out, i hear the noise of the locks, they are trying to unlock, but they are already unlocked.   ive only messed with the aux channels of the alarm, did i mess something else up, and if so, what, and how do i fix that?

to be exact....the doors try to unlock again, after i pull the driver side door handle, and it goes right after i open the door a little, so it might be something with the door sensors? any ideas?

when I shut the car off now, and pull the door handle to get out, then open the door slightly, i hear the noise of the locks, they are trying to unlock, but they are already unlocked. it only happens with the drivers door, after the car has been put in the on posistion or started and shut off. anyone know whats wrong, and how to fix it?

thanks

Vague. What kind of vehicle, factory or aftermarket locks, ignition controlled by car or alarm, or any other useful info would be nice.

its on a 01 dodge stratus, they are factory locks, with a viper 791xv installed. i believe this started happening after i hooked up aux channel 4 to a relay that powers my inverter, which still works.    im pretty sure it has to do with the door sensor on the driver side door, because once i open the door enough for the dome light to go on, thats when it happens.   it makes the noise of the locks unlocking, but they are already unlocked, because they automatically unlock after the car's ignition turns off, and thats a factory thing, the alarm's ignition controlled locks are off.   any ideas?

I have seen something similiar before. I had a customer that came back to the shop for her locks that would keep trying to unlock when she was driving down the road. It turned out to be a bad bcm. What sucks is that the vehicle was out of warranty. I have actually seen this problem 2 times both had the same solution, replace the bcm.

Okay will do, thanks Auex.

By the way, do you think this has anything to do with me connecting my aux chan 4 wire from my alarm to a relay to power my inverter, or connecting aux chan 2 wire from the alarm to a relay that pops my trunk via remote? Or do these things just happen by themselves?

I did outfit my work truck with an inverter wired to my remote.  Burned it out!  Discovered that the inverter should NOT be on when starting the car.  I installed a time-out timer that disconnects the inverter thru the inverter switch by interrupting the "on" circuit on a relay.

Hope the advice helps you somewhat.

Okay sounds good, so the way you said to wire up the relay earlier will allow me to turn the inverter on by turning the key or using my remote, just using 1 relay then, right? And I have a Viper 791xv, so I'll keep that setup as latched with ignition reset, that way it will go off no matter how I started it when I take the key out. If you need more details on this, what is being done is, the inverter powers my xbox, and I use it as a media center, with all my music on it, so I need it to be on everytime I start the car, and to shut off everytime I leave the car, and I also have the remote hooked up to it, so I can start it from my house, ftp to the xbox and update my music and whatnot. Im not sure if that info will change anything, but just in case.

Thanks Again
