I currently have a Kenwood KVT-910DVD installed in my Ford Escape.  The person that installed it (he bypassed the parking brake) told me that it's illegal to run with the screen up.  As i'm putting in the Kenwood KNA-DV2100 for GPS it seems really stupid if I couldn't run with the screen up.  I don't watch movies or TV when i'm driving.  I got the 910 because it has touchscreen capabilities.  I guess my question is this:  Is it illegal to run to the screen out if you aren't watching a movie? (say just CD info on the screen)....

In most states it is illegal to watch "Full Motion Video" while driving. It is also a good idea not to eat, put on makeup, have long conversations on your cell phone, ect. Nav is legal and radio display is OK too.

Well I have to agree it's not a smart move to watch TV or DVD while you are driving.  I just wanted the Navigation with Touchscreen features....
