cd player to amp question

i got a pioneer 6300 cd player it has two pre amp outputs. i'm puting a sub amp and a 4 channel mids and highs amp in. my question is should i use the front rca output and put some y-spliters to the 4 channel amp, or should i use the speaker wires input?

Your HU has three pre-amp (RCA) out: Front, Rear, and Sub/Non-Fading. Run the front and rear outs to your mids/highs amp and your Sub/Non-fading to your sub amp. You will get better quality that way. Paul

Oops, sorry. I looked up a DEH-6600. You would want to use the y-splitter. Just make sure you combine front/rear not left/right. Paul

I assume he wanted to split the front left into two left signals and the front right into two right signals. Perhaps I misunderstand something.... Mike, You might want to use the rear outputs, since making a split cuts the power (could increase noise slightly, but probably wouldn't be a noticable difference, but since people pay extra for high output pre-amps, they must be doing it for a reason, eh?). I've used speaker inputs for the sub, and it works. I went ahead and rewired for RCAs, but it wasn't like a huge improvement -- I think I would be happy enough using the speaker inputs if I had to. Doesn't sound like you'd have to, though.

ya.... then you could completely void all the frequency adjustments from the deck so you have to manually adjust the amps.   

thanks for all the input. i'm just afraid with the older pioneer hu that i might get a stronger signal to the amp by using the speaker wires out of the hu and to the 4 channel. and using the rear rca out to the sub amp?
