whats wrong with power acoustik? the guy at the store seemed pretty high on them saying it was a great amp for the price, and they make lots of high end stuff at a resonable price and they use them in all kinds of installs. hmpf.

well that sucks if its no good.... cuz i already bought it... :(

which brings me to my next question i hooked it up today and it worked fine on radio, switch it to cd and then the amp shuts off. so i hooked the remote wire to the acc and ti worked fine, put it all back together. but then i went to go for a drive tonight and none of my dash lights work and my svs lights came on, is this because of the wire going to the acc?

My friend, you need professional help, go find some. Where in the great white north are you. I might be able to point you in the right direction. By the sounds of it you are back east. (no Power Acoustik dealers that I am aware of in western Canada.) Power Acoustik is not absolute crap, it will do the job OK, but it is certainly not on par with JL Audio and others.

Not really. I have sold Power Acoustik and i will assure you that they are junk. They draw way to much amperage and do not give you clarity. Their average amp goes anywhere from .2 to 2.0% distortion, which is not really good sound. I definitely disapprove of their amps. that guy who sold you that was feeding you a line of you know what. If you can, bring it back and get the alpine. I have never blown one and they always give me great sound. Good luck!

Power Acoustik is an entry level amplifier line. Some dealers in Canada sell it because they can make more $ on it than an Alpine or Kenmore etc. They may also sell it because it may be the only line left that they can sell. That said though, if it works and it does what it needs to for you that is all that counts. Your cd player has two lines on the back of it that some people confuse all the time. The blue wire is +12v power antenna thus gives +12v only when the tuner is in use. The blue / white wire gives +12v as the remote on lead under tuner or cd operation. You more than likely connected to the power antenna line. Move that remote on wire to the proper location.

I agree with the assessments of Power Acoustik in the posts above.  Go back to your original choices and you will get much better sound for much longer.

To your install problem of the amp working with radio and not with the CD, I suspect you used the power antenna wire off your head unit as the remote-on for the amp, and not the remote power wire as you should have.  The power antenna wire is only active with the radio.
