2000 Alero radio install

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a nubie question. My BIL wants to put a radio in his 2000 alero. Can anyone point me to a pictorial where I can find out how to remove the dash bezel? Thanks, Rob

It's been a few months since I have done an Alero I know it is only a few screws and you have to pop up the plate around your shifter and take out the rubber piece in the little storage area.  But it mainly a little elbow grease. post back and I will see if I cannot find exactly were the screws are... I don't think it is the entire dash just the center console and I do remember you have to put into gear to get out the center bezel because of the storage area, let me know how it is going!Fatgotti    Yeah my name is John and I am FAT!! YEAH BABY

Gently pry up the trim around the shifter. There may be a switch on the back end of the panel behind the shifter which needs to be unplugged. There is also a lamp socket in the gear indicator which rotates out. You can remove the shifter knob by prying out the steel U-pin in the front side of the knob. The shifter knob will then pull off. With this trim panel out of the way, the trim around the radio and heater controls can be removed. It too is held in by clips. Gently pry around the panel to release the clips. You can unplug the heater controls after the panel is loose, as they are attached to the panel and will pull off with it. Unscrew the radio and you are done.sparky
