Question for the experts out there.  Can someone give me a reason why I can't just tie IGN1 and IGN2 wires together?  I did some checking and with the key on, both wires come on at the same time and both shut off at the same time.  I am guessing that these two wires just power two different modules so I don't see why shorting them together vs. adding an extra relay and using a programmable output to control the second one would be any different.  Can someone explain to me why I shouldn't do this?

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken one of the wire will lose power while cranking.

One GOOD reason is that your single controlling wire might not have the current capability to power up two possibly high current wires at the same time.

If you can be certain that the two wires are low current, AND they BOTH stay up when you crank it, then you'd probably be OK.

Very bad idea. There is two IGN wires for a reason. Just add the relay and you wont ever lose sleep over it.

All three reasons above are exactly right. Now you have two more answers then you needed.
