Why this forum is the best.

A few of the reasons I find this forum to be the best of them all:

Organized, easy-to-read typeface...white background with black letters...low emphasis on avitars and the like...gold stars(!)...post count...

These points make it easy to use the forum and to tell rather quickly if an answering post might have some legitimacy.

A clean list of help files along the left margin.  A glance through those links tells the new reader that this is a place for serious inquiries and likely professional help.

A steady stream of supportive posters who understand the protocol of the forum and, along with great administrators and moderators, help to keep control of the unruly.  This forum could quickly become like the others without this type of support.

Good system of control over new posters using an expanding benefits system.  When I get to Auex's status I'll be able to do anything I want!

Able to post photos in the threads, and with the smart limitation of bytes allowed.  The user has to be at least bright enough to figure out how to reduce his photos so they'll be accepted.

Organized into areas of expertise or interest (car audio, relays, etc.) instead of a mishmash of everything all together.

Not overly intellectualized...which can be just as annoying as a high school-level free-for-all.  Here, you can get a little of both worlds, but in general everybody "keeps it real".

And now......Spell Checker.  But, ima confuse.....do ya tink itll bee use?

Iam greatful that while i registered on sounddomain, forbidden got hold of me, and pointed me to 2 other forums. caraudio-somethingorother.something and the12volt.com right away i found this board to be full of excelent information and i've been coming back since (and i havent even been here long). i guess i owe forbidden one, at least buy a deck from the guy when im in the market to buy another. a thanks to him for showing me this place and a thanks to every person that's helped me along the way, things would have gone a lot worse if it wasnt for the input given by the lot of you. @ pimp, i think if you goto sounddomain with any sort of opinion about any sub, yur lookin for a flame war. im glad i never voiced my opinions (if i did i forgot), i saw some nasty stuff by so-called professionals; in reality i believe them to be excessively spoiled people with too much ego to be constructive in anything they say or do on that board. i've been dealing with a person i met through that board, and since august i've been waiting for a subwoofer to be sent to me (eclipse 10"), its very stressing and the money i put to that sub could really help me out around this time of year, to some degree i would love to boycot sounddomain from the internet, but im the one at fault for trusting someone like this. but lessons be learned, and a lesson i learned indeed. sometimes the first option should not be your only option. had i known of this place before hand, i probably would have inquired about anyone selling one here first. shucks, it makes me feel bad to not know where the sub is -_-.

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

I notice here the people actually tell you who they work for, and most use the stuff they recommend, sound domain is linked to cardomain which is kinda cars for dummies type thing, it's where you go to start then get to the real world

Another thing that shocked me about sounddomain is the amount of money the people spend on car audio stuff. Especially considering how young many of these people are.   many of the people on sounddomain seem to be around my age (17), but their systems are crazy, thousands of dollars worth of stuff these kids have. Its possible some of them are lying about what they have, but the ones that arent i would really like to know where they get the money from.
