2001 Chevy Venture remote starter

Hi All ..can someone please help a buddy of mine out with trying to by-pass the pass key on a 2001 Chev Venture Van to install a remote starter. The py-pass kit i have says to hook into a blue wire but i have no blue wire in vehical wiring harness. I have 2 purple wires of which one is not used a orange,pink and black. Have tried to hook the blue wire from the kit to both purple wires but then van does not even start with the key till i unhook the wire.. Please excuse my ignorance as this is my very first and possible last as i have no hair left to pull. Can someone tell me which wires i need to modify as the instuctions don't match the vans wiring.........Thank you   Gulf
