Well....picked up a new GMDLBP ver H2.S5 which appears to be the newest model and am still having troubles.
With the new module in, I can get it to start but it runs for a few seconds then dies. It's acting like the bypass isn't doing it's job? Have the GWR hooked to a relay to help(it didn't) and tried straight to ground(same result).
Also, this new one doesn't unlock the doors.
----press lock-sends lock pulse
----press unlock-sends lock pulse again ??????
----tried my old module, it locks and unlocks fine but doesn't start vehicle.
2 modules that are different versions giving completely different results........at least it starts with the new one, but the locks don't work right.....This doesn't make sense at all.
Anyone have an idea?

Some mods need a double pulse unlock to work the locks, is that one of them????

I don't think so.....but that wouldn't explain why the old one works the locks fine but the new one doesn't. I reprogrammed each to the same setting and nothing.

Make sure you program that module properly.  It is type 1 first of all and you should program it for one pulse to unlock all the doors.  Another thing.  Does it have factory keyless??

It's programed to type one. I set the option for locks to unlock all doors. It is just weird. The one module will unlock doors fine and won't start. The other will only lock and start the truck for a few seconds. It isn't a problem with programming the module, because it is doing that. But isn't working right.
Thinking about tossing both and going with 2 separate modules.....PLDATA and the other door lock mod.
This really isn't making any sense.

The engine will die after remote starting if the GMDL-BP's brown wire is not attached to the alarm's second status wire.

He attached it through a relay triggered by the GOWR wire ( which is the status wire ). I've had the same problem with a 2004 Sierra that I put a GMDLBP module on where the truck wouldn't start but the doors locks would work, but it would also set off the OEM security when you tried to unlock the doors. Still waiting for the customer to come back to me to finish off the installation but I'm going with two separate modules for this truck ( GMBP & the MULTIDL )

And this is why I'd like to compile info on bypass systems... Ya gotta admit sometimes you just can't get things to work. Now why would they make something that doesn't work?
