I'm looking to install an XM Satellite radio into my 300 M.  I want to wire the unit directly into my dash with a 12 DC Accessory Outlet and wanted to know what wire is the correct one to tie it into?

I was hoping to have it power up with the radio and power off with the radio.

Any help with the correct wire and wire color would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike

I need to know what color the switched 12V power wire is for the radio on the 2002 Chrysler 300m.

Also, there is no ground strap, rather a black wire coming from the radio.  Is the black wire GROUND, or is it a different color.

Thanks.

does that black wire have a little plastic slide-on connector on the end? (see the first page of this pdf file)  if so, then it's definitely the ground wire.  Course you can always verify this using a multimeter.

if you still have the factory plugs, you can just use a wiring harness and save yourself a lot of trouble.  If the factory plugs have been cut, then you really are going to need to use a multimeter to verify the switched power wire.  Usually it's the pink or pink w/white stripe wire, but for safety reasons you should verify this before making the connections.

Just a note, the wiring info in that pdf file is mostly irrelevant to your vehicle, with the exception of those diagrams of the grounding connector.
