I have the 791XV in my truck, as you have probably read in the other thread. I am going to uninstall that piece of SH*T. If I just unplug it, will everything be fine? If there is more I need to know, please fill me in! Sorry if I am bashing anyones favorite alarm, however if you had the same problems I have had with it, you would understand

if you used a starter kill then you have to reconnect starter wire

Like the MECP book says..most of the time a product is bad blame the installer/installation. I haven't had any problems with Dei that were out of the ordinary.

I havent met any two way sytem I liked yet, but the DEI is by far the best outta the crop. I would guess your problems are either install related or due to your expctations being to high or unrealistic. As for pulling it out, as was pointed out above, if you hooked up starter kill you need to reconnect the starter wire and also if you installed a bypass of anykind for a factory antitheft system like passlock and what not, you might have to repair some wiring there as well.

I installed the 791 myself. It was a first viper 2 way I have ever installed. Everthing works great. But I must admit, I have installed a few APS-996 and regret not putting it in my truck. It has more options that make it nicer than the Viper. For example, Shows time of day, shows how many minutes are left under remote start, inside temp, ect... The viper dosent even come close. But the viper, other than options I have no complaint. Its performance is supurb! Also to boot the range is better than the APS 996. But this is my own personal opinion!
