The specification of the speaker (Pioneer TS-SW124D) shows 3 box types i.e. sealed, ported & Single Reflex Bandpass. Max SPL (db) for the ported box (this is what I have) is achieved at approx. 75Hz. Does this mean that if I port the box for e.g. 40Hz I wouldn't get close to max SPL (db)? I like punchy bass....

Do you want to listen to your music or just be loud? If you tune the box to 40hz it will play a wide range of music, give good depth extension and be loud. If you tune it to 75 hz, it will be a loud one note wonder.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
