I have a small issue with my 8454, and I've concluded it is temperature related. I live in Southwestern Ohio and have plenty of that cold stuff, dammit it to hell. I can't run any CD in my CD player until the car and unit has warmed up sufficiently, which could take like 15-25 mins courtesy of this bitter cold. In the spring/summer I'll find out if that is the problem. By chance considered that?

also, make sure you are burning on a proper audio music disc and not those cheap 10 for a dollar data discs...this will make a big difference in playability....

optical pickups have a temperature variance...-15 to +35, etc.... it could certainly be that the cold will effect the optical pickup until it's operating within it's specified allowable parameters... it happens a lot up here in Canada where it gets really cold ( Ohio in the winter is like Hawaii to us ) ..... this could also be a sign that the P/U itself is going out of tolerance.....
