we did a DEI 15" flip down but are haiving noise issues with the FM modulator. we dont have anything to use as an antenna adaptor (they changed the antenna since the 2004) so we used a monster power wireless FM mod. the wireless (on all frequencies) makes for some nasty interference. this is with the engine off too. any ideas of a new approach? we searched the length of the antenna wire for a standard motorola connector but no luck. towards the rear it is a standard coax cable which we could cut, solder new ends on, and run extensions to the wired FM mod. except that approach may cause enexpected FM reception and compromises factory performance.

Same luck here used a modulator and just stripped a few inches off of the antenna cable and wrapped it around the factory antenna. Worked fine, but definately could've been better and I'm sure while driving will get a bunch of interference. The last metra tech I talked to said they should have an adapter out by the end of January or February until then I would just hold out. As you said you could cut and solder if you feel up to it not a huge deal and putting and FM mod inline compromises the factory performance anyway so not much to lose just cut the smallest replaceable piece you can find ;)
Good luck,
Mike

you can solder in the output antenna end from the modulator to the antenna wire going into the radio with no ill effects. it's not as good as using adaptors, but, well, they don't make them yet....and it sure beats using a wireless FM mod.

car audio pays my bills...
