i am the proud new owner of a us amps 600x. before i start enjoying it i have a question. in the beginning of the manual it says

"The input of a us amp MUST be grounded for proper amplifier operation. The use of external ground isolation dividing devices is unnecessary and may cause severe amplifier and/or system damage."

Then in the section specifically for my model amp, it states again

"WARNING: us amps require a grounded input connection. DO NOT use ground-loop isolation devices on the input of your us amp!"

Anyone have any idea what that means? Could you please explain to me so i dont blow up my new toy?

It sounds like it's talking about the rca signal ground. There are two conductors per audio channel, one positive, the other ground. It is not the same as the ground on the car. Some ground loop isolation devices will actually seperate this rca ground to avoid problems with ground loops. However, this is not good for the amp.

thanks for the info, but im still kind of at a loss. does that mean i need some special type of rca cables? can i use the output directly from my audio control three.1 or do i have to cut cables and add wires, splice things together, etc?

No, you use ordinary quality RCA cables. The outer ring of all RCA's is signal ground. Yes, output directly from the 3.1 using RCA's. If when the install is done you hear whining or engine noise (as can happen sometimes with any car audio install), don't go to a ground loop isolator for a fix. Find and fix the problem instead.

"cut cables and splice things together" should not even be in your vocabulary! lol
