Sorry for leaving that so generic. I was talking about the factory wires that go from the battery to the alternator, from the battery to the motor and chassis. Stevdart is correct, that is exactly what I am asking. I think DYohn has answered my question this time. AS long as I leave the factory wires AND fuse in place it won't really matter anyway. Thanks for the help to all.

why would you fuse a ground wire?

I'm not fusing the ground wire, just making ALL the wires larger. The fuse will be on the wire from the battery to the alternator, close to the battery.
