okay I'm going to be doing a viper 791 install on a 04 Mazda 3, i looked through the forums and found the directechs.com link to the wiring info, however it does not show the color location of the wire where i can get a tach signal from..
can anyone tell me the color and location of a wire that will give me a tach signal? thanks

You can get it at any coil or injector. Look at a few of them. They should all have one common color wire. Im not sure but I think green with a stripe. Anyway just pick one that is not a common color. There should be two wires pick the other.

on most cars, the easiest thing to do is to find the fuel injectors. your car should have 4 of them, and each one will have 2 wires connected to it. you should notice that on each pair, there is one wire which is a common colour to all of the injectors. the wire you want is the one that is NOT the common coloured wire. just pick the injector that is easiest to get to.
good luck!
