Installed some headrest monitors and a dvd player in my 2002 Explorer.  All went well with the exception of one thing.  I wanted to use the Radio's Switched power lead (BLACK/ Pink) to power the system, but it wouldn't work.  I hooked a voltmeter to the wire and it was a tad over 12v so I don't understand why.  I ended up using the 12V constant and everything worked but I don't like that because I have to turn everything off when I stop.  Small price to pay to keep the kids quiet but would like to get it on a switched circuit.

Any ideas??  Maybe another wasy place to grab a switched power from..

Thanks,

Chuck

Ok did some reading and installed the relay..  The switched radio power wouldnt work..  Actually had to use a switched power on the automatic temp control panel..  not thrilled with that one but it worked..  Anyone got a better place??

BTW couldnt find a switched fuse either.,,

Its a 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer.

Acc wire at the key. You can also come off of that wire with a switch, then to your relay. That way it will only come on when the ign is on, but you can turn it off and on as you please.
