Ok it is getting about that time to start getting the amp and subs wired up and the interior speakers amped. Few things:

#1: Soldering tool, what is suggested that is good for the money. I don't need this one to last incredibly long(more than a year or anything) just need something that will do a good job for a few projects. Kinda on a budget.

#2: DMM, any brand I should go with specifically? Any other testing tools I should look into seriously?

#3: Where is a good type of place to get the wiring I will need for the project. (4 gauge from battery to trunk, then like a 2 gauge for ground, door mounted interior speakers and rear deck mounted interiors.) How much should I be looking at price wise? Any good websites for reference? (I prefer to buy local is possible.)

#4: Any misc things I overlooked here? (T-cups stuff like that for a good material list)

I have a wire stripper/crimper tool but well, I am not getting along with it so well so far, but I also haven't really had a real wire to practice on. :) I have some basic connectors as well that came with the tool.

Also does anyone know a GOOD manual/book that deals with a 98 Monte Carlo regarding panels/firewall/wiring/etc? Thank you! Hoping to get this on the way by end of week. (prolly not since I'm working this entire work week schedule for like 50 hours and the job runs until 1-2 AM)

#1  Although not really considered budget, I really have to give a suggestion to Snap On's butane soldering iron.  It is surprisingly affordable compared to others at around $65.  Here's a link: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=68225&group_ID=12178&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

#3  Go down to your local welding supply store.  You will find welding cable to be surprisingly easy to work with and MUCH cheaper than "car audio" cable.  The only difference is that they don't "pretty it up" as much.  But considering you will spend about a quarter of the price, it is well worth it.

Good luck!

I am not really sure if there is a local Snap On dealer. I see a freakin Snap On supply truck(Like those DHL/UPS transports) around town all the time, can't for the love of god find the local place. Maybe I'll try ACE...

Also I don't really know of a local welding place. (There is a Counter Welding building, but well, that place is shut down I am pretty sure.) I'll ask the G/F's dad about it. That's weird they'd have cables for running electrical, atleast in my head.

Snapon.com is cheaper then the truck, but shipping sucks. Ratshack has some small butane soldering irons for like 20 bucks. As far as the meter goes, I would recommend a fluke or UEI but they are expensive. Wire like Steven said, welding shop. Speaker wire is up to you. You need a good set of crimpers, klein or channel lock are good and you can get them home depot for like 19 bucks.

now i never installed an amp and subwoofer but i do like electronics.

A soldering iron, 25w if that will work, could be picked up at radioshack for 15 or less. If you have a Marc's nearby i have seen DMM for 4$.... laugh if you want but i have the same generic model and its good for the money and is pretty accurate from what i can tell.

Master Asylum, I have an idea of what you will be using it for and I doubt you need a $500 DMM. Also I prefer a torch over a soldering iron. Even one of those crack lighters at the nearest gas station will usually do the trick, but the radio shack one will last longer.
