When you wire two voice coils, you have two options: Parallel or series. Parallel: You wire, from the amp, positive to positive on both coils and negative, from the amp, to both negative lead on the coils thus dividing your impedence by 2 - e.g two 4ohm coils wil create a 2ohm load

Series: You wire from positive of the amp to positive on one voice coil, then you jump from the negative of the coil you just wired to the positive of the second coil. You finish the circuit by wiring the negative of the second coil to the negative side of the amp thus multiplting the impedence by 2 - e.g. two 4 ohm coils create an 8ohm load .

If your amp is 2 ohm stable in bridged mode you will get more power from the amp if wired in parallel, if you have 4ohm coils, than if you wire in series. But, like me, mine is only 4 ohm stable, therefore I must wire my 2ohm coils in series to acheive a 4 ohm load to maximize the potential from my amp.

My wife will never understand why, lucky for her!
