Another note to keep in mind. Anyone that bypasses the unit with any internal mods or codes in basically voiding their warranty. It is something to keep in mind when making the decision to do so. A $2,000.00 unit seems like something you would want to keep the warranty on IMO.

But we're "enthusiasts"...  It's like the computer guys who overclock their $3000 PC's just to get a few extra clock cycles out of it... or the car guys who void the hell out of the warranties of their $30k+ autos...    We're all audio nuts here for the most part..  "We don't need no stinkin' warranty".. I'm speaking for myself at least though... AVIC N2 - Service Code - Page 3 - Last Post -- posted image.

I tell my customers this when they talk about bypassing any of the video safety features.
you better hope you never get in an accident. Because if its illegal in your state (and it is in most, including mine), it won't take much of a lawyer to notice that you have an indash, and look to see if you had bypassed it.
if they catch you, its pretty much game over for you, wether you were watching video at the time or not. no insurance coverage, and probably lawsuits and or jail time.
so, do you really want to risk it?
