ok second question... will I ever get the big gob of resin off the concrete? Or do I have to chisle it off?

You can pop it up but it is likley to take a bit of concrete with it. Got a heat gun? You may could soften it up first.

on smaller things, especially things that have alot of curves i use spray adhesive to stick the mat to the surface then coat some resin on that way everything stays in place and turns out clean.

Or just hit it with a ball peen hammer, this usually does the trick for me.
