Hey guys im looking to buy a sub or pair of subs, i hate saying it on this forum but I'm more concered with how loud it hits over sound quality right now, although i dont want to be listening to garbage. Im on more of a lowend budget not really looking to spend more than $200 however Im going to be buying them off ebay so there is that to take into account. Anyway, I have listened to a pair of Earthquake Dbx subs and thats about what i want unless i can get louder. Im not sure of the rms of the amp because it was my friends all he would tell me was it was a pyle 2400 watt amp, I know the subs handle 500 watts rms each. Pretty sure they cost around $200 each but i can get them on ebay for $100 each. Ive noticed that audiobahn subs are extremely cheap on ebay and i know they are pretty expensive MSRP, however i havent listened to any of these. If you guys could give me any ideas on what kind of sub or subs to buy and also what kind of enclosure to use I would appreciate it. I'm open to anything but i dont think ill be able to use anything larger than 15".  Thanks alot.

Bang for the buck. Gotcha.
You'll want some subs, as large as possible, ported, in as large an enclosure as possible. This is the easiest way to get bang for the buck.
So, how much space do you have? (in cu ft, preferably).
I wouldn't buy Audiobahn. Take a look at 2 12" JBL's in a large ported box. JBL makes some relatively efficient drivers. (Efficiency is important in budget SPL). There are some at decent prices on cardomain.com

If you really want' to do an SPL install, the best sub I could reccomend in your price range is a single 15L7. Sadly, they're not the most reliable sub, but in the right box, will be PLENTY loud. Possibly VERY loud if you know waht you're doing. You'll wanna throw some power at it though. The least amount of power i'd reccomend is 800wrms.

Thanks, im posting at school right now but I can give you the cubic feet when i post when i get home today, its a 95 ford taurus in case you happen to know.  And when i said i was looking to spend $200  i meant to type $300.

kfr01, thanks for the advice on audiobahn , they always made me wonder. What type of JBL subs are you speaking of, also what do you think about some of the pioneer premiers?

audiobass10  can you give me any explanation on the difference with L5 and L7, also what kind of box are you talking about, also i heard there is problems with the voice coils would it be worth the risk?

Also any word on the earthquake Dbxs or the earthquake magmas, thanks guys.

Both the L5 and L7's are great SPL woofs. The L7 handles more power than the L5's I believe and they'll get louder than the L5's assuming both are in proper enclosures. What i meant by "the right box", is a properly built ported enclosure (not the prefab ones off the net).
