A friend of mine is looking to upgrade his front stage. he is currently running his factory speakers off of his Pioneer HU. He has an older model Rockford amp, I believe the 200.4. it puts out 4x25 or 2x50. He wants to spend around 150 for the speakers and wants some kind of warranty (ie no ebay) this is going into a 2001 grand marquee. Any suggestions??

I'd try and get the best 2-way speakers you can. Coaxial speakers if you don't know that. Get them as big as you can (i.e. 6.5" if possible) and stick that old Fosgate amp on them.

Tell him to go shopping.  Disregard power ratings and brand names.  Take his favorite CD with him and listen to every speaker system he can that falls into his price range.  Buy the ones he likes the sound of best.
