I fit car audio and security for a living and have always related the alarm on the sound of the arm/disarm chirps some sound expensive some sound cheap although this does not have any bearing on how good or expensive the alarm is i would like to offer my customers a cool sounding alarm without having to go as far as adding a voice module all feedback would be appreciated

the old alpine sirens sounded real classy,  and the old clifford sirens before dei bought them out sounded pretty cool i guess.

I agree with the old apline sirens. Installers used to fight over them.

Check out the code alarm units with the songbird option. It's more of a speaker than a siren and has a ton of different tones (similar to ringtones on a phone) that can be programmed different ones for different functions (ie:arm/disarm/panic/etc). Definately unique when you arm your alarm and hear hawaii 5-0 or the flintstones or something. It doesn't sound when the alarm itself goes off that's where the horn comes in. Definately a step forward from the standard siren which doesn't grab anyones attention anymore.

I don't know about you guys. I never care for a cool sound I just pray I never have to hear it. To me a soft chirp to arm and disarm is music to my ears.

I did installs back in the day 90-94 and am getting back into it a bit now.  As I recall the Alpine 8070 siren was real sweet.

Another siren I liked was the Titan still have that siren in my Nissan P/U, little sucker but loud and also a unique sound.
