I am new to the FG thing and i was curious as to how you go about getting the right CuFt of air space in a wierd shaped box with curves and what not thanks for the help guys

    If you don't need EXACT measurements, it is quite easy. Do you have the back of the enclosure already 'glassed? You should start there, first.
    Then build the ring for the speaker, and using dowels and hot glue, position the ring in the 'enclosure'. Then you can stretch fleece/T-shirt material/lycra/etc in the overall shape you want. At this point you are looking at the final shape and size.
    Now just stuff packing peanuts (or something the like) into the enclosure. Do not pack tightly, just enough to get a solid fill. Then empty them out, and place them inside a box of which you know the dimensions. Now you know how much space is in there. Don't forget to subtract the woofer, as its displacment can surely affect the interior dimensions.
    If the dimensions are not adequate for your speaker, you will need to adjust accordingly. Then you can start glassing if the enclosure meets your specs.
