Does anyone know why the new 05 trailblazers dont seem to "get along" with aftermarket remote starts? I work at circuit city, and we have done a few, and they all come back with problems. I would love to be able to come up with a solution (if one exists) so we dont have to turn customers away.

Thanks

kenny

to be honest, im not 100% sure. I havent done any myself, I just know that everytime a customer comes in, we can never do it, and I thought it would be nice if we didnt have to turn them away. From what I've heard, something with the factory alarm, or computer, or something doesnt accept the remote start.... i dunno. Is there anything special that you do to them that you dont normally do on most other vehicles?

Thanks

Kenny

Are you using a passlock module to bypass the factory security system?  I just had a RS system installed in a '02 Trailblazer.  I had to buy a module that would bypass the Passlock system in order for them to be able to do RS.

http://www.drdetailshop.com/457G.htm <----that's the one I purchased for my trailblazer except I didn't pay that much.  Notice that it also has the Door lock module built in.  I'm not exactly sure why, but it needs the door lock module in order to do keyless entry.

it needs the module because the doorlocks on these vehicles operate on the class II data bus.....   i have done many 02-up Envoys, Trailblazers, etc with no real issues as well.....

We've done a bunch of them (2005's) with no issues so far. Again if you can get us some more info as to what problems your having we may be able to give some better tips. We normally do NOT energize the brown acc wire, but that shouldn't make a difference in this vehicle.
