COuldn't you use bondo on the panels to flatten them out? To me that'd seem like the easiest way to do it.

i originally painted the pillars with krylon fusion, and sprayed some clear coat over them.i havent installed them back in my car yet.  i just recently started to think about making them smooth, since i am fiberglassing the doors, headliner and rear deck.  i am trying to avoid sanding the plastic smooth, so i plan to shoot it with some high build primer  and then some S.E.M. flex primer. then apply the paint and clear.

you can buy the paint at meijer, walmart or any other store like that.  it is easy to use, just shake and spray(make sure the surface has been cleaned)  I have also heard they paint sprays better if u put the can in a pan of hot water for a couple minutes before u spray.

What large pieces u consider painting with spray paint?  i recommend for large pieces to use an air compressor.

hb primer in a can, aerosol or gallon/quart?     i bought a gallon of hb at the car show swap meet in my town for 25 bucks.  i also got good deals on all sorts of stuff.  but check out this website, for aerosol, they might have the other kind too. but do a web search.

bondo may not stick to the plastic, or for very long.

Everything listed on that page is a high build primer but not a flex primer. I can't stress enough how important it is to use the flex primer. If you have the fusion down be sure to remove it the best you can before you apply anything over it also, A bond is only as strong as it's weakest layer.

yea, i will probably use some sort of paint thinner/stripper, maybe sand some, and clean it thoroughly. then shoot down the high build , then flex primer, and then paint/clear

that's cool, but you probably don't want to use a stripper on plastic or elese you will end up with the part in the form of a puddle. Just sand and recoat.

do you guys suggest me using the krylon fusion or auto paint after i use the flex primer.  In other words, will auto paint stick to the flex primer or do i need a plastic paint still?
