Does the Passlock light on the dash come on when you do this?  I'm just wondering.  Sounds like a good idea for people low on cash.

"Anti Theft" in red, lower left appears on dash.  Just blinks continuously.

My "security" light stays on continuous.  I read about a "FIX" for this which is get back there and disconnect that bulb or whatever but it doesn't bother me.  (or put a piece of black tape over the light to cover it).  Even with people not low on money, I've heard of the lock cylinders malfunctioning continuosly, why waste the money.  Especially for me with a damn Alero, if I wanted to put 500 bucks into the car it can go into better places than the security of the car.  I'm saving right now for the next set of brakes and hubs that it will need.

Oldsmobile denied me the fix too and said they've never seen one with this problem and if I couldn't get it to do it in front of them then there really is no problem at all.  They don't care

That's pretty much the consensus from others I have spoken to that have talked to their dealer about this problem.  Other than the light staying on, any other ill effects Joe?

Why not correct the problem with a couple relays/resistors instead of ghetto hacking it?

Why are you so late?  The bashing was at the beginning of the thread, I think it's past that now.

Besides if you want to take your own advise why not just buy a new lock cylinder, isn't relays and resistors just another hack?Passlock II Simple Fix - Page 2 -- posted image.  I love it
