What do you guys think about using these spring clamps as opposed to getting lowering springs?

Not a good idea at all. Just save up a little more money and buy lowering springs.

I am just wondering for the sake of knowing, why are these no good?
They put too much pressure on springs? They come off?
I am not really educated on these parts and want to learn a little.

if u are going to lower any ride do it right the first time. do it wrong it can cause major problems. those spring compressers break all the time u can only hold that pressure so long on big dip in road--snap. eibachs are well worth the dough.

You are changing the geometry of your springs with those. Not only can they break, but the ride quality will be all but gone.

I lower vehicles all the time and those spring compressor's are just an accident waiting to happen. Springs load on most passenger car's can flip a 1000 lb chassis over on it's side when released from compression of 2 - 3". Just like everyone says, just buy the proper springs from Eibach, Suspension Techniques, Sprint, etc....

The problem with buying a set of springs, is that no one makes them for my car. I have been to a few sites explaining that having the springs cut at a machine shop could lower the car much more safely. What about having them cut?
