I tried to install the Python 1400XP RS into a 2005 Silverado and now it will start up and then die. I tried to use the DEI 457G bypass but I couldn't get it to work for the passlock, so I used resistors instead and this doesn't seem to be the problem because the truck will start it just won't keep running. I am wondering if this is a tach problem and how would I need to change the settings. I went to the coils and used a blue wire (not a black, green or brown, I believe these were the other wires there)   As far as tach settings, everything is set up the way it came from factory. Any help is needed, thanks

alot of remote start problems are down to tach.

the tach wire is tested with ac voltage  its about 5V and the voltage rises with revs

I found for the newer truck you must use the injector wires and you have to learn the remote start to accept this tach signal. The problem that you describe is a tach learning problem.

I have installed the Python 1400XP RS into a 2005 Silverado and ran the acc wire (from the RS) to both acc wires in ign harness. I used a 1A diode to isolate the wires and I believe the diode going to the AC acc wire is blowing. I say that because after the truck has been remote started for a few minutes you can smell something burning and the electrical tape around the diode is melting. After taking off the tape, the diode is in half. Do I need to get a higher amp diode or is there something else wrong. I am using parts express 1N4007 diodes. This has happened more then once also. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give you all the info. Thanks for the help

Your putting a 1 amp diode on a circuit that draws more than 15 amps of current??? You need to add a relay before your truck catches on fire.

thas the way tha you have to conected

white goes to pink/white

orange to orange

red to red

pink to pink

yellow cut in half

key side goes to green

motor side goes to purple

you don't need the brown wire for R/S but if you want to make a relay to powered.

the White wire is the most important wire to power if you don't power it the check engine turn on and you can damege the trasmission

Question for you.... why are you running a 2nd ACC wire for anyway ? You don't need to power the BROWN wire for anything aside from if you want the radio and the wiper's to operate during remote start. You do need a 2nd IGN wire to be hooked up and if you want to run the a relay to drive the power for a 2nd IGN from the 1st IGN, then use this relay diagram:

The RS came with two IGN wires and both of those are hooked up. I thought that I needed both ACC wires hooked up, but if I don't need the brown one, then there is no need to diode isolate them and now I have no problem. Thanks for the help.
